Description

Kelley Point is located just over a mile from Jonesport village at the eastern edge of Moosebec Reach. This stunning property boasts two beautiful beaches, picnic tables, fields, woods and several rustic cabins and other structures. Views of Great Wass, Head Harbor and Roque Island are possible from various points on the property.

The owners use Kelley Point as a family retreat and occasionally for large group outings during the summer months. When not in use by family or for social events, the owners welcome recreational boaters ashore on Kelley Point to picnic or to camp overnight. Please call Dawn at 207-768-8412 if you would like to camp to ensure that the site is available.

Camping is allowed in the field surrounding the stone monument to the west of the southeast-facing sand beach. To reach the campsite from the sand beach, look for a short trail above the first set of pink and black rocks on the western fringe of the beach. Visitors may use the picnic tables located in the vicinity of the monument and tent wherever convenient nearby. Low-impact campfires are permitted on the beach. The campsite affords some separation from the cabins and other structures clustered at the point. If you need assistance however visitors will find the neighbors helpful and welcoming.

If they are around, the owners would welcome an opportunity to meet any boaters using the property. Please do consider saying hello during your visit. The owners also note that a very old and interesting Kelley Family cemetery can be found on Degenhhardt Drive near the top of the knoll, and they recommend a visit to the Jonesport Historical Society near the public ramp which showcases many interesting stories about this unique downeast area.
