Description

This 1,225-acre [Maine Coast Heritage Trust](http://www.mcht.org/) preserve features a 3.5-mile trail network and is open for low-impact day use. The large cobble beach at the head of Hamilton Cove is a popular local picnic spot. Depending on the conditions, landing may be preferable on one of the other small rough cobble beaches along the shoreline of the preserve. A parking area along Boot Cove Road can be reached via a 0.14-mile trail from the main picnic beach. It is also reachable from the east-facing beach south of the main picnic beach via a 0.25-mile path through an open meadow. The other beaches at the preserve do not connect to the trail network.

Hand carry launching is possible at [Hamilton Cove Preserve](https://mcht.org/preserves/hamilton-cove) but it requires a 0.14-mile portage from the parking area that is off Boot Cove Road. Overnight parking is not permitted.
