Description
Apple is located in Fish Creek on the northeast side of Deer Isle at the southeast end of Eggemoggin Reach. It is connected to Deer Isle at low tide and is in clear view of a few houses on the shore to the north. The island is low-lying and forested with little bedrock. True to its name, the island features a large apple tree on its southern shore.
Best access is generally on the southeastern portion of the island. The surrounding area turns to mud flats at low tide, limiting boat access. A clearing in the forest near the center of the island on the west side provides a good area for camping.
