Description

Located between Doyle Island and just off Hopkins Point, Mouse is a privately owned little gem of an island. It is connected to the mainland at low tide and is unnamed on many charts. The best landing is on the north east side near the low tide bar.

Mouse is treeless, and only 100 yards from the surrounding mainland; camping is permitted wherever practical in the upland area that is mowed and maintained. A flat, grassy spot on the western edge provides a nice tenting area with southern views. While only half an acre, Mouse allows for beautiful 360 degree views. Enjoy the mornings in your tent listening to fishermen check their traps just a few hundred yards off shore. When the flag is up on the flagpole and you are relaxing in your Adirondack chairs by the campfire, you may wish you had planned to stay longer.

The view and experience is unique due to the island's proximity to the reach and its small size; as such, please try to minimize your visual impact by keeping your camp area clean and compact. While Mouse Island does not provide as much privacy as other nearby options, it is a convenient place to take refuge in poor weather or when getting a late start on a trip.
